Mural painting

The wall paintings by Marc Saint-Saens completed in 1939 bear witness to the economic, social and political history of the town and are to be found in the Council Room of the Town Hall. They depict the four themes of the Stages of Life (maternity, youth, learning and old age), Marianne, the Tree of Liberty and Christophe Thivrier.

Also in the  Town Hall are three tableaux of Parisian scenes created by Charles Duvent. This huge triptych (4.25 metres in height and 9 metres in length) is made up of three titles : Working (showing the Point du Jour Quay and the Island of La Jatte on the Seine), Effort (the building of the Underground) and 1900 (the Universal Exhibition).
